How to get to Disneyland Paris

Did you know, the Paris region has three international airports suitable for travelling to Disneyland Paris?

Charles De Gaulle (CDG)

This is the busiest airport in Europe and is serviced by Aer Lingus and Air France with several flights per day. Smaller groups or those travelling light can jump on the TGV high-speed train to get to Disneyland directly in 9 minutes! The average flight cost to CDG is likely higher than other options, and train journeys typically cost 35 Euro per person each way (but the price drops if you buy within the 2 weeks before your arrival). The train drops you to the front door of Disneyland, but if you have lots of luggage, you’ll have to walk to get a free shuttle to your hotel. If you only have hand-luggage, you can leave it at guest storage and go about your day in the parks. Larger groups, those with big suitcases or those not confident of navigating unfamiliar train stations might be best sticking with a private transfer or Magical Shuttle. The train also sticks to a schedule which might not suit your arrival time.

Orly Airport (ORY)

This might be a new name to you but it should be right up there when checking for low cost flights to the Disneyland region. Get used to airlines such as Vueling and Transavia (both part of larger airline groups). Prices can be a fraction of the cost of CDG and the airport is similar driving distance from Disneyland! It’s also much smaller, so it’s easier to get around for nervous travellers. Private transfer costs as low as 60 Euro per van and the airport is served by the Magical Shuttle. When flying home from Orly, families with young kids (under 3) can use the family assistance lane at area 36 to fly through security.

Beauvais (BVA)

Many travellers end up flying into Beauvais without realising they’ve booked flights to an airport 90 minute drive away from Disneyland Paris, but for some, this can actually be the best option. Flights with Ryanair can be super-low cost and when you couple this with a medium size group of 4-6 passengers (to fill a private transfer van) then you can be in for a great value trip! You can be in your transfer about 15 mins after landing which is a good 30 mins faster than CDG. There is no direct train connection but you can get bus/train into Paris City and then get the RER-A out to Disneyland Paris (the station is called Marne-la-Valee / Chessy).

Things to know about TGV versus Private Transfer versus Magical Shuttle

  • TGV train from CDG works well for small groups travelling light, but if you are heading to your hotel, it might be cheaper and faster to get a private transfer.

  • TGV train operates to a schedule, it might not operate early in the morning or late at night. It’s risky to book tickets before you land because if your flight is delayed and you don’t have a flexible ticket, you are down money.

  • TGV costs (35 Euro each on average but cheaper if you book within 2 weeks of your trip) means groups of 3 or more would be best looking at other options.

  • Private transfers usually wait for you in arrivals, takes away a lot of stress.

  • Not all private transfer companies are created equal. The ones we recommend score highest for reliability on our Facebook Group.

  • Magical shuttle is cheapest for solo travellers but has to drop-off and pick-up at several hotels

  • Paris has “proper” Uber/Bolt network so make sure to download the app, its super handy for getting around or as a last minute airport option.
